Transport

Getting around the Alpine Pacific Triangle Touring Route is easy. The highways and country roads are excellent and well sign posted.

We remind international visitors to always keep left and note the directional arrows when exiting a rest area. If you are unfamiliar with driving on the unsealed roads you may find, we recommend you substantially reduce speed.

Scheduled Services
Shuttle services depart daily from the Christchurch i-SITE Visitor Centre for Kaikoura and Hanmer Springs and points between.

For an alternative experience, board the Coastal Pacific train for one of the great train journeys of the world through the North Canterbury hill country and along the Pacific Coast to or from Kaikoura.

Special Interest Tours
Leave the driving to someone else and join a guided tour through the wine trails, around the country gardens, to hiking trails or on fishing expeditions. Full details are available from the Visitor Centres.
